Volunteering in the community

Cindy continues to serve as a Member for the Character Committee of the Maryland State Court of Appeals.  She regularly meets with students after they have completed law school and taken the bar examination, to help determine their character and fitness to practice as a lawyer. She also speaks with the bar candidates references to inquire as to their character and fitness to practice law and serve the residents of Maryland. 

Paul currently serves as the Secretary of the Carroll County Bar Association.  He is also a board memeber of the St. Vincent dePaul Society Foundation, and has been for over 27 years.  The Foundation provides assistance with food, housing, and employment, in the Greater Baltimroe area.   

Paul A. Capriolo and Cynthia Hatten Unglesbee Ninth Anniversary

 

Attorneys Paul Capriolo and Cynthia Unglesbee formed their new partnership effective June 1, 2014, and we celebrated our ninth anniversary working together.  We look forward to continuing to serve the legal needs of our current and future clients..  Our practice continues to grow and we would like to thank all of our clients who have put their faith in us to help them with their legal needs, as well as the kind referrals they give to our practice. We look forward to continuing to work together as partners, and for our clients, to serve your legal needs.

We live and work in Carroll County and are blessed to work and raise our families in such a wonderful area.

 

Professional Recognition

 

Cynthia Hatten Unglesbee has been named a Maryland Super Lawyer for the last several years.   This distinction is based upon peer recognition and professional achievement.  Cynthia practices primarily in the areas of Family Law, including all aspects of divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support, and Estate Planning and Estate Administration.  She has extensive courtroom experience, including working as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Raymond E. Beck, Sr., gaining valuable insights into the workings of the court system.   Cindy also serves the legal profession as an appointed member of the Character Committee of the State Board of Law Examiners. 

Paul has also been named a Maryland Super Lawyer for the several years, and has been recognized by that organization for his expertise as a Family Law Mediator. The Super Lawyer Award is based on attaining a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.  It is only awarded to five percent (5%) of Maryland lawyers. 

 

Professional Involvement

 

Cynthia continues to serve as a Member of the Character Committee for the Maryland Court of Appeals and volunteers her time to meet with and interview candidates for admission to the Maryland Bar. 

Cindy also serves as Settlement Officers for the Circuit Court for Carroll County, Maryland.  This service helps other litigants settle their cases without the need for a costly and emotionally draining trial.

Paul  regularly lectures at the local Parenting Seminars held at the Carroll County Youth Service Bureau, which assists people experiencing divorce learn co-parenting skills which will help benefit their children. 

As part of our involvement with local schools, we regularly participate in Mock Interviews for High School students, giving them interview experience and information on a legal career. We also host student interns to provide them with insight into the practice of law.
