Attorneys Paul Capriolo and Cynthia Unglesbee formed their new partnership effective June 1, 2014, and we celebrated our fifth anniversary working together. We look forward to continuing to serve the legal needs of our current and future clients.. Our practice continues to grow and we would like to thank all of our clients who have put their faith in us to help them with their legal needs, as well as the kind referrals they give to our practice. Giving back to legal community
Cindy continues to serve as a Member for the Character Committee of the Maryland State Court of Appeals. She regularly meets with students after they have completed law school and taken the bar examination, to help determine their character and fitness to practice as a lawyer. She also speaks with the bar candidates references to inquire as to their character and fitness to practice law and serve the residents of Maryland.
Paul and Cindy also regularly host a high school or college intern at our office. A student from Stevenson College is working with us, giving her the opportunity to learn about the law as a possible career choice. We are also looking forward to having high school and college interns experience learning about the practice of law. We regularly host high school, college, and law school students for these internship opportunities, involving them in all facets of the practice of law, including attending court with us.Community Involvement
Cindy and her family regularly take part in the Father's Day Fun Run in support of the neo-natal intensive care unit at GBMC.
Cindy and her family also participate in the fundraiser to support research in the fight against prostate cancer, which is held at Johnny Unitas stadium in Towson.
Paul and his family regularly take part in the walk to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
Paul and his family regularly take part in the YMCA Turkey trot, to raise funds in support summer camps for children without the financial means to otherwise afford them. Though he regularly brings up the rear in the race, a good time, for a good cause, is had.
Paul also regularly conducts mock interviews with seniors at the Carroll County Career and Tech Center. He is impressed with the quality of the students and with their future goals and ambitions.
Paul and Cindy are sponsors of the Carroll County Bar Association's Secretaries dinner, which is an annual fundraiser to raise funds for those in our community who are in need, especially during the holiday season.
Paul is a board member of the St. Vincent DePaul Foundation and has been for twenty-five years. St. Vincent DePaul supports many good causes including literacy and education programs, employment training, and providing nutritious meals for those in need, especially children. One of our subsidiaries, Kidz Table, provides nutritious meals for children in Baltimore City and County, and Harford and Carroll Counties.
Cynthia Hatten Unglesbee has been named a Maryland Super Lawyer. This distinction is based upon peer recognition and professional achievement. Cynthia practices primarily in the areas of Family Law, including all aspects of divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support, and Estate Planning and Estate Administration. She has extensive courtroom experience, including working as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Raymond E. Beck, Sr., gaining valuable insights into the workings of the court system. Cindy also serves the legal profession as an appointed member of the Character Committee of the State Board of Law Examiners. Cynthia has also been recognized by the American Institute of Attorneys as one of Maryland’s 10 Best Attorneys in the area Family Law. The American Institute is a third-party rating organization recognizing the excellence of attorneys based upon a formal nomination, a high degree of professional achievement, and an impeccable client satisfaction rating. Paul has been named a Maryland Super Lawyer, and has been recognized by that organization for his expertise as a Family Law Mediator. Cynthia continues to serve as a Member of the Character Committee for the Maryland Court of Appeals and volunteers her time to meet with and interview candidates for admission to the Maryland Bar.
Cindy also serves as Settlement Officers for the Circuit Court for Carroll County, Maryland. This service helps other litigants settle their cases without the need for a costly and emotionally draining trial.
Paul regularly lectures at the local Parenting Seminars held at the Carroll County Youth Service Bureau, which assists people experiencing divorce learn co-parenting skills which will help benefit their children.
As part of our involvement with local schools, we regularly participate in Mock Interviews for High School students, giving them interview experience and information on a legal career. We also host student interns to provide them with insight into the practice of law.
